There’s a softness in the way you name this season… change wrapped in small rituals and the kind of clarity that only arrives after life rearranges you.

The tension between ambition and motherhood, time and tenderness, is held here with so much honesty.

It’s beautiful to witness someone reclaim their life in real time with this kind of awareness.

Beautiful! As a soon-to-be mum just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed seeing you share your experiences of new motherhood - gets me so excited about what's to come while also being realistic and honest. Thank you for sharing

I remember when our first child was born – trying to make sense of life and creative work when the world had just shifted on its axis (and there was no sleep to be had). It was wonderful but so difficult. I really hope your 2026 lets you breathe and find the things you're hoping for.

The picture of you by the fire with book and baby is so sweet and cosy 😍 how’s Jeremy coping with being a big brother?

I have been enjoying the Always Take Notes podcast lately, and a new non-fiction book called Plain Life by Antonia Pont. Also finally reading Sandwich which is as wonderful as you said!

Excited to see your evolution in 2026 ❤️

As someone planning their maternity leave and freaking out about writing/reading/feeling like me while going through it, your newsletter helps enormously!

I'm so excited for your 2026, Claire. It's going to be transformative. As for TV and other things, I have just finished All Her Fault and my *god* it just gets better and better. All the twists and turns! Loved it.

Podcasts -- my regular favourites right now are: Off Air With Fi & Jane (this is my daily go-to. it's such a comfort and has been for years), Spill, Louis Theroux, Rewatchables (pick a film you love), Miss Me.

In terms of podcast mini series, I loved The Retrievals (though might not be quite right for a new mum) and Lucky Boy (my god that was excellent).
